How to register There ae two ways to register: (1) over the telephone with a Credit Card or (2) with a bank transfer accompanied by an email. (1) Credit Card payments can be securely made through the University of Stirling. Telephone Sharon Kilbride on + 44 (0)1786 467640 (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) with your Credit or Debit Card in hand, and she will talk you through the options. If the telephone option is inconvenient, you can fill out the registration form yourself, and than either fax it to Sharon at +44(0)1786467641, or you can email it to her at sharon.kilbride@stir.ac.uk. Once we have processed your credit card booking we will send you a confirmation of registration email within about two weeks. (2) Bank transfers can also be used to pay. The details of the account to transfer the money to are:
There are two important details regarding bank transfers. First, when making a bank transfer there is an option to describe the transfer, please use "'Dialogical Self <your second name>" as the descriptor. Second, once the transfer has been made, email dialogicalself2008@googlemail.com with the details of the transfer, including, your name, which package you want to register for (see below), how much money you have transferred, from which bank account and the date the transfer was initiated. Once we have received the bank transfer, we will send you a confirmation of registration email within about three weeks. Questions regarding the registration packages and making payments etc. should be emailed to Hannah Hale and Mariann Martsin at dialogicalself2008@googlemail.com. Dates & times The conference will begin in the late afternoon on the 26th August. Accommodation and registration will be available from the morning of the 26th. The conference will end with Lunch on the 29th. Ideally these times should enable people to travel on the 26th and 29th. Unfortunately, booking extra nights accommodation at Queens College is not possible. If you want to arrive earlier or stay longer, then it will be necessary to get alternative accommodation. Travelling with a partner? If your partner is attending the conference then you may wish to book one of the twin room suites within the college. If you partner is not registering for the conference, then we recommend that you both use alternative accommodation because the college accommodation is within the conference premisis and thus anyone using that accommodation needs to be registered for the conference. Registration packages Queens' College Cambridge is providing not only conference rooms, but also accommodation and meals. Thus we are able to offer participants packages which are all inclusive. The packages include all registration fees, accommodation for three nights (26th, 27th, & 28th), access to the internet, all breakfasts (full English), all lunches, all teas and coffees and three-course dinners on the nights of the 26th and 28th. These packages cover all expenses, apart from dinner on the 27th, when there is a special Conference dinner. For those who choose not to take part in the Conference dinner, the only extra expense will be buying dinner in the town on the night of the 27th. These packages offer exceptional value, comfort and convenience, and as such we recommend that participants take one of the packages. The college accommodation, however, is only intended for people two are registering for the conference and who do not require to arrive before the 26th or stay on after the 29th. There are three types of package, which are based upon the three types of accommodation available. These prices include registration and meals.
For students, and participants from countries with weak currencies, there is a special price of £320 for a full package with a shared bathroom. The rooms available in Queens' college are limited, and will be allocated in the order of payments received. For those who would prefer to find their own accommodation, we offer a basic registration package. This includes all registration fees, all lunches, all teas and coffees, and access to the internet.
The discounted registration only rate, for students and academics from countries with weak currencies is £180. All of the above registration costs should be paid by the 15th of May. Registration after this date will incur a 20% surcharge. Registration without accommodation is also possible for single days: 26th (£60), 27th (£120), 28th (£120), 29th (£60). These registration fees can be paid on the day, either by cash or with a credit card form. However, intent to register for a given day needs to be confirmed before the conference - so that we can ensure that everyone gets lunch.
